Captivating Theatre Experience

Uncover a World of Mystery and Intrigue on Stage

Unveiling the Magic

Step into the enchanting world of Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Believed in Fairies, a theatrical play that mesmerizes audiences with its captivating tale of logic versus belief. Our production sees Sherlock Holmes clash with his most dangerous enemy yet - his very own creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a man who can destroy Holmes with a stroke of his pen. When Doyle espouses - and Sherlock despises - the case of the Cottingley fairies, it sets them on a collision course. Join us on a journey that celebrates the power of deduction and the magic of storytelling.

How it all began

From the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to a successful mini-tour, Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Believed in Fairies is preparing for its next chapter in 2026.

Script in Hand

Performed by talented amateur actors, Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Believed in Fairies saw its first outing as a script-in-hand fundraiser at Llangollen Town Hall. It played to an appreciative audience and started the ball rolling towards getting the budget for Edinburgh where it would be played by a professional cast.

Edinburgh

In August 2024, Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Believed in Fairies made its way to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Despite a sub-par venue with zero street visibility, the play still attracted 700 audience members.  Starburst Magazine commented: "Sherlock Holmes and the Man Who Believed in Fairies is a solid show with strong performances and a really neat mystery story.  One we hope to see ventures beyond the confines of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe."

First Tour

In October 2025, we embarked upon our first tour with the play. There were three venues in all, the first was Malvern Theatres Studio One where we enjoyed packed houses. Our next stop was the studio at Greenwich Theatre, London, where we oversold the first night and extra seating had to be brought in and then on the second night, outsold the 400 seat main house upstairs! Our final venue was The Ustinov Studio at the Theatre Royal, Bath where again, we played to packed houses. Now everyone wants to know where we will be playing next - watch this space as dates are added to our 2026 autumn tour.

DR WATSON: It's a long story. Holmes had retired to East Dean ...
MRS PICKETT: I remember him going. I thought at the time keeping a few bees ain't never going to distract him for long. Not with his brains being like what they are.
... All my deduction and reasoning is confounded by Conan Doyle's seances, intuitions and general fake foolery. He laughs in the face of science.
